Replacement Tire Recommendation for a E78-14 on a 1988 Shorelander Trailer
Question:
I have a 1988 shorelander trailer which calls for E78/14 tires. the tires on there now are p 195r70-14. i might want to change them this year. I dont see any 195/75-14 tires listed for trailers. would I have to go to205/75-14s not sure if clearance would be an issue with the fenders. What size would you recommend? Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
The modern size equivalent to the E78-14 that you have is the 205/75-14 like what you are interested in. If that is what came on your trailer originally the 205/75-14 would fit and work well.
For a tire in that size I would recommend the Taskmaster Radial tire part # TR20514 as it will fit and work well but unlike other trailer tires it has an 81 mph speed rating which is much higher than the 65 mph speed rating of most trailer tires.
