Compatibility of Saris Freedom 2 AS4412B-FB Fat Tire Bike Rack with 2006 Honda CR-V

Question:

I have a 2006 Honda CR-V with the exterior spare tire. I have two new fat tire bikes. Will the Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack for Fat Bikes - 1-1/4inch and 2inch work/fit my application? Thank you

To determine if the Saris # SA4412B-FB will be compatible with your 2006 CRV, you'll need to measure rearward from the hitch pin hole in the receiver tube till you pass the rear edge of the spare tire. If this distance is less than 10 inches, the rack should work well for you.

When we installed a hitch on the 2006 Honda CRV, we found that the hitch pin hole to rear of spare tire distance was 8-1/2 to 8-3/4 inches. this means that the rack should fit fine, but on the bike closest to the back of the vehicle, you'll need to properly index the pedals to avoid the spare tire.. Since the spare tire is off-center on the back of the vehicle, this shouldn't present a problem.
