Rear Tailgate Clearance Offered By Erickson # EM07600-07601 Bike Bed Load Extender

Is there enough clearance for use of my tailgate when the carrier is extended to carry items level with the top of the cab of my truck?

Expert Reply:

My Erickson representative tells me that when their Big Bed Load Extender is set up as a high mount load bar, The upright will be located 2 feet rearward of the hitch pin hole. So, to determine if you'll be able to open your tailgate, measure 2 feet rearward from your hitch pin hole, and see if that will clear your tailgate.
