Should Trailer Be Loaded or Unloaded When Measuring For Correct Ball Mount Rise/Drop

question about ball Hitches, I have a 7500lbs Dbl axle trailer that I use to haul a tractor or car with, I have a GMC 2500HD pickup. To figure drop of a ball hitch should trailer be loaded or unloaded? Thanks

You can measure your trailer's coupler height with the trailer loaded or unloaded. The travel in the trailer's suspension will not have a significant impact on the trailer's coupler height.

When measuring the coupler height, the trailer jack will be supporting the trailer and holding it level regardless of the trailer's load.
