Solution for Testing Stoplight Circuit on 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon Easier for Brake Controller
Question:
Received everything from you guys as ordered - thanks a bunch. Installation went fine with one exception: Cant figure out which wire is the cold side of the brake light switch. Terminals are so small that I am not sure the test light even makes contact. Here are the wires at the switch: yellow, green, brown/white, white/red and black/white. Any suggestion which would be my input to the controller? As the taillights are LED for the brakes, I am not quite sure if this changes the game. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Instead of trying to contact the small terminals try puncturing the wire with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 that has a needle tip and is designed for this exact thing. Since we haven't installed a controller on your vehicle yet we don't know which color it would be. But I am confident that with the proper tester like the # 3808 you would have no problem finding the right one.
