Can a Weight Distribution System Be Installed on a Royal Crown V-Nose Trailer

Question:

looking at buy a V nose trailer and Im concerned if a torsion bar will fit, if its needed in the future. Dealer says its maybe 30 inches inside, 33 outside from the front portion of the A frame for attaching a torsion bar. 7 X 14 trailer, hauling two motorcycles. One is fully dressed @900 lbs and the other is about 750lbs. If necessary after purchase I want to make sure I can fit a torsion/load bearing distribution systems just in case. Driving 1000 miles one way. GMC Sierra 1500 4 x 4, 5.3L. Suggestions, recommendations. Local trailer parts and install dealers say it wont work? But the Royal dealer says it should. I guess I need to know length of torsion systems to see?

It will be possible to use a weight distribution system with your V-nose trailer, but you will want to look at the specific system to ensure that there is enough room to mount the spring bar brackets on the frame.

The sway brackets that hold the spring bars of the weight distribution system will be installed close to the front of your V-nose trailer, based on the measurements from the dealer, but the distance will still allow a system like the Equal-I-zer to be installed on the trailer. For an Equal-I-zer system, the brackets need to be installed 27-32 inches back from the center of the coupler. I have attached a photo from the installation instructions showing this measurement for you.

Equal-I-zer offers different systems for trailers with different tongue weights. You will want to choose a weight distribution system based on the trailer's loaded and ready to tow tongue weight. The # EQ37060ET system has a maximum tongue weight of 600 pounds. The # EQ37100ET system has a max tongue weight of 1,000 pounds. And # EQ37120ET has a maximum tongue weight of 1,200 pounds.

The Pro Series # 49570 system that you referenced will not work well with your V-nose trailer. It is likely that the frame brackets would not be able to install far enough down on the frame.

I have attached a help article on weight distribution systems for you as well as a review video of an Equal-I-zer system.
