What is Capacity or Tongue Weight Capacity of Bulldog Heavy-Duty Cast Head Coupler w/ Wedge Latch
Question:
What is the vertical weight capacity of the above referenced coupler? I realize the gross capacity is 15,000 pounds, but this is not the same as vertical, or tongue weight capacity, is it?

I contacted our representative at Bulldog and he informed me that the tongue weight capacity of the Bulldog Heavy-Duty Cast Head Coupler w/ Wedge Latch, part # BD44150W0317, is from 10 to 15 percent of its weight capacity. So the maximum tongue weight capacity of part # BD44150W0317, is 2,250 pounds. The coupler is capable of towing a loaded trailer that weighs up to 15,000 pounds.
The Coupler Capacity must be equal to or greater than the gross trailer weight.
