Fastway Weight Distribution Recommendation for 3,500 lb Trailer
Question:
Need product recommendation. Looking at Starcraft Launch trailer to buy. Mfgs specs: unloaded veh. wt.- 2864 lbs., dry hitch wt. 335 lbs., GVW 3500 lbs. Towing w/2014 Chry. TownandCountry, have Class 3 hitch installed from previous trailer that has Weight Distributing specs of max gross trlr wt of 5000 lbs, max tongue wt of 500 lbs. towed popup. Is the Fastway e2 WD w/2 pt sway control, P/n FA92-00-0450, 4500 lbs. GTW and 450 lbs. TW , adequate for vehicle and load combination? Thank you,

Thanks for providing as much information on your setup as you did. That makes my job very easy!
So your trailer at it's heaviest would be 3,500 lbs which would mean the tongue weight could range from 350 to 525 lbs. The part # FA92-00-0450 is most likely going to be not rated high enough as you also have to factor the weight of cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle as tongue weight too. The part # FA92-00-0600 would be a better option as it has a tongue weight limit of 600 lbs and would work well for you.
For a 2-5/16 inch ball you would need part # EQ91-00-6100 or for a 2 inch ball # EQ91-00-6080.
