Recommended 2 Bike Rack for Carrying 70 Pound Electric Bicycle and Other Bike on 2013 Honda Civic

Question:

Wondering what bike rack would work on my 2013 Honda Civic sedan? I know there are many, but what is the issue is that I am purchasing an ebike , quite possibly a 70lb. Juiced ODK 3. What would be the best rack that would work with a 1 1/4 inch hitch for my vehicle that could handle that weight as well as one other bike? Thanks

The problem we're going to run into is the weight of the ebike. If there's any way to lighten the weight of the bike down to 60 lbs, possibly by removing a battery pack, we have some racks that would work for you. If this is possible, I recommend the Thule Easy Fold XT, part # TH903202. This bike will handle a single bike weight up to 65 lbs.

I also recommend a rack like the Saris Freedom SuperClamp EX2, part # SA4025F. Both the racks I mentioned are high-quality, manufactured by reputable companies. Both racks include locks to secure the rack to the vehicle and the bikes to the rack.

If you can get by with the 100 lb capacity, I'd recommend the Thule T2.
