Will Rightline Gear SUV Tent Fit Lexus GX 470 with Side-Opening Rear Door
Question:
Do you think your Rightline SUV tent would fit my 2005 Lexus GX470? The GX470 is the kind where the rear opens to the side like a regular passenger side door and not up like a 4 Runner. Thank you.

It is possible to use the Rightline Gear SUV Tent # RL110907 with your Lexus GX 470 that has a side-opening rear hatch. I spoke with my contact at Rightline and she confirmed that tent can work with a vehicle like your GX 470.
There are some things to keep in mind that will be different with a side-opening rear hatch. Since the tent was designed to use the rear hatch to help support part of the tent roof, with a side-opening hatch there will likely be some sagging at this part of the tent roof. This could allow water to pool when it rains. Also keep in mind that the rear hatch will open into the tent, so a side-opening hatch will take up some space width wise inside the tent.
