Will Rails For Reese 16K Fifth Wheel Handle The Reese Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, # RP58079

Question:

what options are the best for me? i have a dodge 2005 3500 long bed with a Reese 16k 5th wheel hitch with the rails mounted in the above bed. I like the idea of ball mount living under the 5th wheel hitch in one of your pictures. I do not know the capacity of the rails. Can you help me with the options?

Expert Reply:

The Reese Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch - 25,000 lbs, # RP58079, is rated for 25,000 lbs. and the rails for your Reese 16K Fifth Wheel hitch are rated for 25,000 lbs. The towing capacity will be determined by what the gross towing capacity is on your 2005 Dodge Ram 3500.

The Reese Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, # RP58079 will not fit on your rails at the same time as your Reese 16K Fifth Wheel hitch. You will need to use one or the other as the legs on the Reese 16 K hitch will interfere with the gooseneck trailer hitch.
