Replacing Lock Cores on Rhino-Rack Locks

Question:

Hello, Could you explain or even do a video on how to switch my existing locks to new ones? My locks are in the open position but Ive lost my key. Thanks,

First, you are going to need a key for the old locks. The key is needed to depress the tumblers in the locks you have. Otherwise you will not be able to get them out. What is the number on the face of the locks you have?

With the key inserted you will then need access to the back of the lock. At the back there is a metal tab holding the lock in. Use a flat blade tool or knife to press that tab down while at the same time pushing the lock out from the back.

To insert a new lock put the key in the lock, line it up with the housing, and use the tool to press that tab down again while pushing the lock in from the front.

The Rhino-Rack MasterFit Rooftop Cargo Box - 15-1/2 cu ft - Textured Black # RRRMFT440 and the 14 cu ft # RRRMFZ66 will allow you to change out the lock core for keyed alike options. 2 cores and keys # RRRK083-2 4 cores and 2 keys # RRRK005-4 8 cores and 2 keys # RRRK125-8 This allows you to key all your Rhino-Rack gear the same so you don't need multiple keys.

I would like to know if its the same thing for the locks on a cargo box ? My Rhino rack cargo box locks are shut down because of corrosion.
