Supplemental Transmission Cooler for a 2007 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 Liter with Factory Tow Package

Question:

I have a 2007 chevy Tahoe with the 5.3 engine with a tow package which includes the trans cooler. I am towing a 5000 lb. Jayco travel trailer. I am wondering about adding an additional cooler or getting a bigger cooler to aid the trans. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks

I think it is a great idea to add even more cooling capacity for the transmission on your 2007 Chevy Tahoe. Adding in a supplemental cooler will provide more cooling efficiency than just replacing the stock cooler so I recommend that method.

A small cooler such as # D13502 won't take up a lot of space and will add some capacity and efficiency to the cooling. To avoid having to cut and flare lines you would also need fitting # D13035.
