Will Thule Canyon Roof Basket With Extension Allow Hatch To Open On Subaru Outback

Info on Thule Canyon basket. Can the basket with extension be used on a Subaru Outback with interfering with the rear liftgate? Will it open fully when using the ful rack and extension?

With the extension included with the Thule Canyon Roof Cargo Basket on part # TH859XT-8591XT, the overall dimension of the basket is 69 inches long x 40 inches wide x 6 inches tall.

You would need a minimum of 20 inches between the crossbars to mount the basket, so that would leave approximately 24 inches or so of basket from the center of the rear crossbar to the back edge of the basket. You can measure from the center of your rear crossbar to the hatch when it is open to determine if it will interfere.
