Brake Controller Recommendation and Install for a 2016 Acura MDX
Question:
I have a 2016 Acura MDX with the tow package for 5,000 lb. I need a brake controller to connect to the car. It came with a wire harness that connects to the car and the other end has 4 wires that go to the brake controller. The 4 wiresare vehicle ground, battery feed, brake switch and output to trailer brakes. It has a 7 pin connector. I want a controller with a digital display, as i currently have the teckonsha voyager. Thanks

Thanks for providing the brake controller install info for your 2016 Acura MDX with the tow package. That will make recommending a brake controller easy and will make the install easy for you as well.
For a digital display brake controller that will work the best you would want the P3 part # 90195. This proportional controller is the nicest one on the market because of how well it works and how reliable it is. It uses advanced sensors to know precisely how much braking your tow vehicle is applying and will deliver a proportional amount of trailer braking power. It also uses a fully digital display that uses full words to describe the current connection status and brake power that is being applied.
You would just wire the 4 wire of the harness that came with your 2016 MDX to the 4 wires of the controller and you would be ready to go. White is ground, blue is brake output, red is stoplight circuit, and black is 12 volt power.
