Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring that Left Blinker Stops Working When Brake Lights are On
Question:
I hooked up a wiring harness into factory plug. 1989 chevy suburban. All lights works except... When I hit the brake the left brake light wont work until I hit the left blinker then shut it off and brake light works. It will only work when I do this... any suggestions?

Sounds like a weak ground on the trailer lights. Typically when there is a weak ground there will be bizarre trailer light behavior when the brake lights are activated since they draw quite a bit of amperage.
I attached a couple help articles on wiring troubleshooting for you to check out as well.
