Trailer Hub Recommendation for Pace American 6 x 12 Trailer with Dexter Axle

Question:

Im looking to replace my hubs and bearings with a whole hub and bearing kit replacement for a 2005 Pace American 6x12 cargo trailer with a 3000lb axle. What size hub and bearing kit do I need to replace them. My tires are ST75R15 with a 5 lug wheel.

Pace trailer use Dexter axles so you would be looking for a 3,500 lb capacity hub that would fit a Dexter axle. I attached a page that has all of the hubs that would fit your trailer. You will need to determine which wheel bolt pattern you have to pick out ones that will fit the rims you have.

I attached a help article that covers how to do this.

Thanks Chris! Is it possible to just get the Grease seals? I matched up the bearings already locally but the Grease seals that csme with the kit were too small on the inner diameter so I reinstalled the old Grease seals for now but as I said, they are allowing Grease to escape out the back! Also, I have a slightly bashed hub that makes the dust cover difficult to put back on. It is very slight and aluminum covers you can work with but if I want to install a bearing buddy, thats going to prove a challenge. Is replacing that hub necessary? Thanks!

Yep, for just the seals you can use part # RG06-020 (which includes two). If the goal is to use Bearing Buddy Protectors in place of the dust caps, I think you'll need to replace the hub in question. Bearing Buddy fits are extremely exact, so if that hub bore is deformed in anyway it probably won't fit that existing hub.

I am looking for a bearing and Grease seal kit for a Pace American 4 x 6 model WS46HDO. This small trailer looks to be a 1 1/16 bearing but finding the right size Grease seal for the rear of the hub has proved a challenge. As the old ones wear they seem to let grease out.

If both your bearings have the same 1-1/16" inner diameter then you'll need a kit that includes the L44649 inner and outer bearings. We have one full kit with seal available for this size with part # BK1-150. The included seal has a 1.500" inner diameter and a 1.987" outer diameter. If this doesn't match your existing seal let me know.

Worked perfectly! Thanks! Question on same trailer... The wiring is in a plastic flexible conduit and strapped with zip ties to the yolk. Is there any reason it shod not be run right up through the hollow steel yolk? I mean it would definitely protect the wiring harness from getting smashed or cut by accident.

You can certainly run the wiring up through the yolk for better protection. The only reason I can think of not to do this is that it might make troubleshooting a bit more difficult down the line (you'll have to dig a bit more to inspect your wiring, etc).
