The Westin Perfect Match part # 31012 is a confirmed fit as a replacement bumper for your 2001 Dodge Dakota. The rusting problem that you have seen on similar Dakotas are ones with factory bumpers. This bumper is made by Westin and not Mopar so it would not rust like a factory one.
