Does it Normally Take Quite a Bit of Weight Distribution Spring Bar Tension to Level a F-150

Question:

I have a 2010 ford f150. Max load rating is 10,500 I pull a keystone Springdale 310gh. My question is. When I hook up my distribution hitch it takes a lot to get the truck level. Should I take it to caping world and have them make the adjustment? I feel like I can do it but just have some worries. Thank you

When you tow a heavy trailer with a 1/4 ton truck there is going to be a decent amount of sag in the suspension. Because of that you would need to have quite a bit of spring bar pressure to get the truck to then sit level. If the truck ends up sitting level once installed then you have the WD system set up properly.

You also want to be sure you are using the properly rated weight distribution system for the tongue weight of your setup. Keep in mind that tongue weight also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle.

I attached a help article on tongue weight for you to check out as well.
