Carrying a Carbon Frame Bike on a 2014 Kia Soul

Can the OutWay Platform be used on a 2014 Kia Soul safely with a carbon frame bicycle?

The Thule OutWay platform style trunk mount bike rack # TH65JV is listed as a fit for your 2014 Kia Soul. If you are carrying just one bike with a carbon frame the weight on the vehicle should not be excessive and it will safely carry the bike.
With this bike rack it is possible for it to deform a rear bumper if the load is too heavy. Basically if you are carrying 2 regular steel frame bikes it would likely deform the bumper on the vehicle.
If you have any doubts about the OutWay I recommend installing trailer hitch # 24915 and using a hitch mount bike rack compatible with a Class I trailer hitch. This will keep the bike and rack off of the vehicle completely.
For a bike rack that will work great for a carbon frame bike I recommend the Kuat Transfer # KU74FR that holds the bikes at the wheels and does not touch the frame. I have linked a video review of this bike rack for you.
