Question:
Do I need one of these to install the P3 in my 2010 Chgevr Silverado? Installation Accessories - a vehicle-specific wiring adapter One end of the custom adapter plugs into your Chevrolet Silverado, and the other end plugs into the controller - no hardwiring required. - If a custom brake-control wiring adapter is not available for your Chevrolet Silverado, one of the following will be required: 20-Amp circuit breaker 9506P - sold separately for 2- to 4-brake applications

The 2010 Chevy Silverado does not have a port to plug in a brake controller but it does have the wires bundled up under the dash. The wires are located to the left of the steering column and are held together with a white tag.
Pull those wires down and make the following connections to the brake controller wiring:
Truck red/black wire connects to controller black wire (12 volt power)
Truck white to controller white (ground)
Truck light blue with white stripe to controller red (input from brake switch)
Truck dark blue to controller blue (output to trailer brakes)
Truck orange wire is not used
There may also be some connections that will need to be made under the hood to make everything fully functional. I have included a link to our help article that explains all of this for you.
If your truck did not come with a factory installed 7-Way connector you will also need # HM40975 to add one. I have linked a couple of videos that will also help with this installation.
