Will Adding AirLift Air Bag Helper Springs Lift the Back of a 2015 Ford F-150 when Empty

Question:

Hello Im looking into buying one of these air lifts for my 2015 f150 4x4. I would like to know if the bags lift the truck up when its empty or does it stay at the stock height. I read that it is mandatory to run a minimum of 5psi and that raises the back of the truck 1 inch. But I also read that this system is safe to run with no air because of the the built in bump stop. Does the more psi I put in the more the truck go up unloaded?

The AirLift air bag helper springs # AL88385 may lift the back of your 2015 Ford F-150 some but they are not designed just for that purpose and I doubt that you would get a 1 inch lift with as little as 5 psi in the air bags.

The bags are meant to fit in between the frame and axle but not increase that gap though that is a byproduct of adding air to the bags. So any lift you get most likely won't be all that noticeable.

Bump stop or not I do not recommend running the bags empty. They were meant to have some air pressure in them. No air pressure could result in damage to the air bags so I would run at least the minimum 5 psi. I have linked the installation details for this kit for you.
