Would Lippert Ground Control 3.0 5th Wheel RV Leveling # LC358590 be Overkill for 2015 Cougar 26RLS

Question:

I have 2015 Cougar 26RLS. I am more concerned about movement in the 5th wheel rock n roll than self leveling. This system does look much more stable than OEM. What trouble will I have installing the aft legs in my Cougar? Would this be overkill for a 26ft. Not too long ago I saw a system that claimed to assist in tire removal. Is that system still available? I checked the WEB and Lippert bought the company out. Thanks for your time.

The Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric 5th Wheel RV Leveling System # LC358590 automatically levels and stabilizes. While it does do an excellent job stabilizing a trailer it's real advantage is it's ability to do it automatically and not require manual operation of the legs to get the desired result.

As long as your 2015 Cougar 26RLS has an 8", 10", or 12" frame this would install pretty easily actually. But there will be some drilling required. I wouldn't say this kit is overkill for your trailer at all. It would do it's job easily since your trailer isn't as heavy as some other trailers.

Lippert does not recommend you use the Ground Control 3.0 for lifting a trailer up to change spares although we have read online where people have said they have done it without issue. It will void the warranty of the system and in most case you wouldn't get enough lift since these jacks are designed for leveling and not lifting.
