Recommended Platform Bike Carrier For 2016 Nissan Rogue

Question:

ETrailer installed a Drawtite 2inch hitch on my 2016 Nissan Rogue last week. Id like to buy a Kuat Transfer bike rack. I have a back up camera on my auto, and I would still like it to be functional when the bikes arent on the rack. Would either one of these work? Many thanks,

Thank you for choosing etrailer.com, for your trailer hitch.

The biggest issue with the Transfer is that it would not be able to be folded up. The Rogue has about 5-3/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole of the Draw-Tite # 75902 to the back of the rear bumper. The Transfer has 5 inches. If you never plan on folding the bike carriers up then either carrier would work for you.

The bike carrier I recommend for you is the Kuat NV 2 Bike Platform Rack, part # NV12G. When folded up, this bike carrier has a distance of 7 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the carrier. this bike carrier is a wheel mount aluminum carrier. This carrier tilts away form the back of the vehicle even with bikes loaded to make it easier to load and unload. The carrier has sliding wheel trays and has a weight capacity of 60-lbs per bike. A hitch lock and retractable cable lock is included to keep the bike rack and bikes secure. Again, if bikes are loaded or if the arms are upright, the backup camera will be blocked at least partially. If the rack is folded up it will also block the camera view and if folded down it may set off the sensors.
