Spring bars of weight distribution systems like the part # FA94-00-0800 are designed to put a great deal of tension on the bar hangers. What is recommended to do is use the trailer jack to raise the trailer up (while connected to tow vehicle hitch ball), so that the spring bars can then be easily installed on the hangers with the included lift handle?
Once connected you would then be able to lower the jack.
