Does the P3 Brake Controller Eventually Turn Off

Question:

Hello I just hooked up your p3 brake controller, does it usually run all the time even when I dont have my trailer hooked up? I just dont want to drain my battery or if I should just disconnect it when Im not using it.

The Prodigy P3 Brake Controller part # 90195 that you referenced will eventually go into sleep mode if it is left undisturbed for several minutes. You should note though that the display of the controller would take an incredibly long time to drain a vehicle battery. The battery would have drained from inactivity long before the controller would drain it.
