Can Any Friction Bar-Style Sway Control be Used with Any Weight Distribution System

Question:

I have a 2006 travel lite r-vision trailer. Does it matter what brand I go with for the sway bar? I already have the weight distribution but I never got the sway bar. Im looking at the curt and ez lift sway bars.

The type of sway control you use is going to depend on the type of weight distribution system you end up with. For a system that has the spring bars that hang from chains you can use any friction bar-style sway control such as # 83660. I have linked a video showing installation for you.

A single bar-style sway control is recommended for trailers up to 6,000 pounds and no longer than 26 feet. For trailers that are 6,000 to 10,000 pounds or trailers longer than 26 feet 2 of the friction bar-style sway control units are recommended.

The dual-cam sway control system # RP26002 only works with Reese spring bars that have the cam hook ends. They cannot be used with any other systems. I have linked our help article on weight distribution and sway control for you.
