Can an Air Bag Kit Replace a Weight Distribution System When Towing a Trailer
Question:
I have a 2012 Tacoma and I tow a 3800 lb dry camping trailer. I dont like the wieght distribution hitch and wonder if adjustable air bag suspension could replace the wt dist hitch and keep the load distributed and compensate for sag. thanks-

For your 2012 Toyota Tacoma the # F2407 has been confirmed as a fit and will take out the rear suspension sag you are experiencing when towing your trailer. A weight distribution system like what you have will be the absolute best solution for towing a trailer because it reduces sag by moving some of the tongue weight of the trailer up to the front axle of the tow vehicle. This greatly helps with braking and handling (especially in an emergency) unlike a suspension enhancement setup that only pumps up the rear end of the truck.
So if you are okay with just getting rid of the sag you can go with the Firestone kit instead of the WD system, but you should just be aware that you have the better overall system currently.
I attached an install video for the # F2407 for you to check out as well.
