Could Quick Disconnects Be Used for Wiring of Snow Plow Motor

Question:

Hi - I am just curious if these have been used by others for a snow plow quick connect? My original connections from my BOSS plow is round terminal lug and socket with rubber coating, but it is getting worn and loose and thought this might be a better replacement. I just am not sure about what guage wire I have on it currently. Can this one only be used for 2 guage wire? Also can these be crimped or soldered or both? Thanks,

Snowplows are typically powered by winches which is what the quick disconnects we offer are designed for so the ones we carry could potentially work for you.

You would need to solder the terminals of the # SWC60015-8 when installing to ensure they don't come apart. You could certainly solder smaller gauge wire to the terminals if you needed.

Or another option would be the 6 gauge quick disconnects part # SWC60010-1. Depending on the gauge wire you have these might be a better fit. The max draw of these is 50 amps though.

The max draw of the ones you referenced is 175 amps.
