Will a Prodigy P3 Controller Apply Full Braking Power When at a Stop with Brake Pedal Applied
Question:
I just installed a P3 brake controller. I noticed that it is always on when it is hooked up. Will this drain the battery or do I need to unplug it all the time? Also, I hooked it up to my trailer. I was stopped in my driveway. I set the power to 6.0. When I applied the brakes, it only went up to .7. Is this normal? Will it apply more voltage when the trailer is moving? Thanks,

The Prodigy P3 # 90195 will always be "on" as it wires straight to the vehicle battery. However, after several minutes of inactivity it will go into sleep mode so you wouldn't have to worry about it draining your battery.
Since this is a proportional controller it will have to sense hard deceleration for it to apply the highest power level you set it for. Since you were in a driveway stopped it sounds like everything is working fine.
