Replacing a 5th Airborne Pin Box 5AB-S500-700 with a Reese Goose Box Adapter

Question:

I already have a BandW turnover gooseneck ball in my f-250 and Im buying a used fifth wheel that has a 5th Airborne 5AB-S500-700 installed. I want to use the gooseneck connection to tow. Can I simply add a fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter to the king pin on the 5th Airborne or do I need to remove the 5th Airborne to add an adapter? If I can add the gooseneck adapter directly to the 5th Airborne, which part numbers would you recommend?

Based on the 5th Airborne pin box number you have provided I believe that the trailer originally had a Lippert 1116 or 0115 pin box on it from the factory. The Reese Goose Box that fits is # RP94716-61301.

You cannot add any sort of adapter to the 5th Airborne pin boxes. They are not designed for that application.
