Does It Matter Where I Am Installing the Prodigy RF Brake Controller on My 5th Wheel?
Question:
I have just recently bought one of these from you and I am about to fit it. However it says on the box that there are specific mounting instructions / locations for 5th wheel applications. There is nothing in the installation guide that covers this. I was planning to mount it on the pin box in a horizontal plane, would it matter if it was mounted on the right hand side of the pin box with the connecting cable facing the rear as that would work better for my application due to the location of the socket in my truck bed. Thanks

I can help you find the proper mounting point for your RF Brake Controller on your 5th Wheel.
Due to the self-leveling feature of the Prodigy RF the brake controller continues to function even as you drive up steep hills or through the mountains. You will want to mount the power module, which contains the inertia sensor, on your trailer tongue or frame I have linked an image of where the desired locations are indicated for your convenience.
The Prodigy RF must be mounted within ± 5 degrees of level on the horizontal plane and must be lined up so that the power cable extends toward the tow vehicle for the internal sensor to function properly. So I cannot recommend you mount it on the pin box facing the rear.
Once the power module is mounted on your trailer and connected to your vehicle, simply sync up the handheld remote to the module as per the included instructions. Then plug the remote into any 12-volt auxiliary outlet in your tow vehicle for power.
