i was wondering if this tailgate vgm-99-100 will fit my 04 chevy silverado 1500 with the 4.8 letar v-8 motor .

Yes, the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate with Open Design, # VGM-99-100, will fit your 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 as long as it is not a stepside model and as long as it does not have a composite bed.
Currently, there are no 5th wheel tailgates that will fit a stepside model.
