Solution for Fifth Wheel Trailer That Needs More Clearance Between Bed Rails and Trailer Overhang
Question:
I would like in increase the clearance distance for my Lippert pin box 1621 on my 2012 Crossroads Elevation model 3612 toy hauler. The critical distance is the space from the bottom of the pin box to the top of the pickup box side rails on my GMC 2500HD, The Lippert pin box is already at its highest setting and sometimes on hard angle turns, it scrapes the tops of my pickup box side rails. Will this product increase this clearance distance? If not, will another product work better? Thank you.

When installed the Lippert Flex Air Pin Box part # LC328492 will be 19-9/16 inches from the top of the mounting bracket to the bottom of the kin pin. You would have to measure your current pin box to see if the dimension is bigger.
Realistically your best solution is going to be going to a taller fifth wheel hitch.
If you have industry standard fifth wheel rails installed in the bed of your truck one of the tallest hitches we offer that would work well is the B and W Patriot part # BWRVK3200 that is height adjustable from 16-19 inches.
Typically 6 inches between the truck bed rails and the trailer overhang is the minimum clearance needed to prevent interference.
