For a 2 bike carrier to fit the rear of your 2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara I recommend the Swagman Titan 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch Hitches, Tilting # S63400. This bike rack offers 11-1/4 inches of clearance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the foot of the carrier, and has 14-1/2 inches of clearance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright bar.
This rack features anti-sway cradles to help prevent bike-to-bike contact during travel. Also included with the rack at an anti-rattle threaded hitch pin and an integrated 8-mm steel cable lock to secure the bikes to the rack.
This bike rack has a weight capacity of 35 pounds per bike. I have attached a review video of this rack for you.
If you plan on carrying any women's or children's bikes, a bike adapter bar may be needed to provide a secure and level place to secure the bike to the rack. The Swagman # 64005 is a great option. I have attached a video of this adapter bar for you.
