Recommended Air Suspension System For 2014 Chevrolet Silverado With Hide-A-Goose Installed

Question:

I have a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Z71 and I recently purchased and installed the Draw-tite removable ball gooseneck hitch model #9465-54. I purchased the hitch so that I could occasionally pull out 3 horse gooseneck horse trailer. I am thinking that I will likely also need to install air bags to help with ride quality and stability when pulling the trailer but I am unsure which kit I need to buy that will work with my gooseneck hitch. I dont intend to add an on-board compressor because I will only be pulling the trailer a few times a year for short distances. I was originally looking at the Air Lift 59565 Ride Control kit but after some more research I think it will interfere with the hitch and may also be inadequate for my needs, rated at only 2000 lbs. Do you know what air bag kits I need for my application? Thanks,

Because of the positioning of the brackets when installing the Hide-A-Goose Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, part # 9465-54, installing any other system that has to be attached to the frame rail on either side would pose a problem. We do have a solution for you though.

I recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs, part # F2430. This system attaches an upper bracket to the bracket on the vehicle frame rail that is where the bump stop is installed. This is also an air system and it has a load-leveling capacity of 3,200 lbs.
