Small Trailer Tire Recommendation with Higher Speed Rating

Question:

Interested in some tires. I dont have a trailer yet, but Im cautious as to the speed rating. If Im hauling a small trailer, likely with 8 inch 4 lug tires, many of the regular tires mention 45 mph as the max speed. Im from Oregon, and the main travel highway is I5, where the speed limit is 65,but nobody goes that .essentially Im trying to have a safe experience. Would it be better to go up to a small regular size tire that has speed ratings that can handle this?

We have some trailer tires that have speed ratings that go up to 81 MPH that are speed rated M. With that being said, I can't recommend you exceed your posted speed limit.

Since it looks like you are looking for a smaller diameter tire the smallest one we offer with that high of a speed rating would be a 13 inch tire part # TTWTRTM1758013C that happens to be a size ST175/80R13.
