Tire Chain Recommendation for 2016 Subaru Forester 225/60-17 Sized Tire

Question:

Do you make any tire chains that will fit P225 60 R!7 99h tires on a 2016 Forester? I work at OHSU Hospital in Portland, Oregon and ODOT mandates that every car using the entry highway to the hospital must use chains under specified condition. Ambulances use same road and they cant get in/out if another car has spun out or had to stop because they didnt have chains on. This is my only car and owners manual says chains Can NOT be installed. Can you help me?

I can help you find a tire chain that will work for your needs.

Typically, when the owners manual states not to use tire chains it is because there isn't enough clearance between the tire and the vehicle body. The tire chains TH2004205104 you were looking at require a clearance of 10mm all the way around the tire to prevent it from coming in contact with the body.

I recommend the Thule K-Summit Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # TH02230K45. These chains differ from most in the way that they mount. They have a self-centering, self-tensioning system that are designed to solely sit on the tread of your vehicles tire, which is great for vehicles that have a limited wheel-well clearance. Also these chains will allow you to have minimal contact with the snowy ground while installing.

I've linked a video of the same chains just mounted on a different vehicle's tire to give you an idea of how simple and easy these will be.
