Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2015 Mercedes Sprinter
Question:
Hi, back again, but with a different tow vehicle. My 2015 Sprinter 2500 Crew 4x4, 144foot with factory tow hitch. I need a Trailer Brake Controller kit. I have the factory underseat green factory connection. I have the mating green connector and the 4 wire pins for the controller hook-up. What controller and bits do I need to complete this installation? Thanks.

Since your 2015 Mercedes Sprinter has the factory connector for a brake controller (and I assume a 7-Way connector at the back) you just need the brake controller itself. I recommend the P2 # 90885 because it is easy to set up and use and it is reliable. It comes with a universal harness that you will splice the factory 4-Way harness to. I linked a video featuring this controller on a 2014 Sprinter which will be similar to your 2016.
I don't know the color functions on the factory harness but it should be labeled. On the brake controller the white wire is ground, black is 12 volt power in, red is input from the brake switch, and blue is output to the trailer brakes.
If your Sprinter does not have a 7-Way trailer connector you will need to add one. The 7-Way and parts you may need will depend on if it has any kind of connector or not and if so, what kind it is.
