Can Curt RV Trailer Hitch be Installed with Brackets facing Upside Down
Question:
I want to install this on a C-channel frame with the bolt surface facing down so the crosstube is within the C-channel space. Is it ok to install that way?

Expert Reply:
I can only recommend that the Curt RV trailer hitch # C13701 be installed according to the installation instructions which is to the bottom of the frame. For a more versatile hitch in terms of mounting options I recommend Curt hitch # 13703. It can be bolted or welded on and it fits box frames, I-Beam frames, and C-Channel frames. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you. Please note that any welding should be performed by a professional welder.
