Question:
How thick is the backing plate? Can this be welded to with the plating that is on it?

Expert Reply:
The backing plate for the # RR5K is 1/8 inches thick. This plate is zinc plated and I know that welding with zinc components can create toxic fumes, so this requires someone with experience welding zinc to complete a weld-on installation of this d-ring or plate.
