What Base Plates Are Needed For Towing A 2000 Chevy Tracker 4-Door 4WD
Question:
Which base plates will I need?, Do you sell them towing a 2000 tracker 4D, 4WD

Expert Reply:
The base plates that you will need for the 2000 Chevy Tracker 4-Door 4WD are the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, # 1012-1. These base plates will not work on models that have a brushguard.
These XL series brackets are compatible with the RoadMaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, # RM-520.
You will also need the RoadMaster 68 Inch Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables, # RM-643, these safety cables will keep the vehicle attached to the tow vehicle in case the coupler becomes detached from the hitch ball.
I would also recommend the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, # RM-154, with this kit the vehicle brake lights will function as both brake and turn lights. It will also have the diodes that prevent feedback from going from the taillights on the towed vehicle back to the vehicle that will be doing the towing.
With this wiring kit the brake lights on your 2000 Chevy Tracker will function as both brake and turn lights. If you want to have separate turn and brake signals you would need the Vehicle to Vehicle Taillight Converter, # 118158, and two additional diodes Roadmaster Hy-Power Diodes (Qty 2), # RM-792.
You will also need to check with the manufacturer for instructions on the proper procedure for towing your 2000 Chevy Tracker 4WD, because some vehicles must be equipped with a transmission lube pump, an axle disconnect, drive line disconnect, or free-wheeling hubs before they can be towed.
