5th Wheel Trailer Hitch and Installation Kit for a 2015 Ford F-250 Short Bed

Question:

Would like a recommendation for a 2015 F-250 Diesel pulling a 2014 Keytone Cougar 320QBS. It has the Max Turn Technology which is said to work with the shorter bed and my question Do I really need a slide? I was looking at the Titan 20K Tube Slide but in all honesty I think that is way more then I need. I like the idea and versatility that it brings but Im not so sure I really need all the bells and whistles that the Titan provides. I also like the idea of an under bed system so that I can remove the hitch from the back of the truck easily if needed and utilize my truck bed if I choose. Please provide some options. The truck is a trailer ready package, no wiring required. Thanks for any recommendation you may have.

The design of your Keystone 5th wheel trailer is indeed designed for use with short bed trucks without having to use a slider hitch. However, a slider can still be used and would be a good idea if you ever tow a trailer that does not have the short bed friendly design.

For an under bed mount for your 2015 Ford F-250 I recommend Demco kit # DM8551000 and for a hitch I recommend # DM8550022. The great thing about this hitch is that it will slide automatically without you having to do anything. I have included a link to a video review of this hitch for you.

If you still want to go with a fixed 5th wheel hitch and not a slider then I recommend the B&W under bed mount kit (and it is also a gooseneck hitch) # BWGNRK1111-5W. For a hitch that will fit this mount I recommend the Companion # BWRVK3500-5W.

Unlike most other fixed hitches, the Companion can be set up to have the hitch head closer to the front of the truck or closer to the rear as needed. This would allow you a little extra clearance should the design of the 5th wheel trailer not be enough. I have included some links on the B&W products as well.
