According to Thule, there are 3 trunk mount bike rack that will fit your 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. You can use the Thule Passage 2-Bike Rack, # TH910XT, the Thule Gateway Pro # TH88VR, or the Thule OutWay #TH45JV. The Passage is the most economical, the Gateway Pro has more features than the Passage, and the OutWay has all of the features available. Check out their videos!
If you plan to carry women's, children's, or alternative bicycles, I would recommend the ThuleAdapter Bar, part # TH982XT. This bike allows those types of bikes to be mounted level on the bike rack.
