Availability of Front Mounted Trailer Hitch for Carrying Bikes on Front of 2011 GMC Yukon XL
Question:
Is there a front hitch for my vehicle. Ive put my bikes on roof racks up until now. Im 65 and its to hard. We pull a 32 ft camper and take the bikes with us when we camp. If there isnt a front hitch, is there one you recommend for over the propane tanks on my trailer. Ken

We do indeed have a front hitch that's compatible with your 2011 GMC Yukon XL, the Curt # C31012. The hitch would work fine for carrying a bike rack, but my fear is that having bikes at the front of the vehicle will obstruct the driver's view, possibly to the point of being unsafe. The bikes could also possibly block the headlights, further leading to visibility problems.
The Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk, part # CC-275 would be a infinitely safer alternative in my opinion. The bike bunk would install on the A-Frame of your camper, using what would normally be wasted space over your propane tanks. The bunk has a 100 lb capacity only including the weight of the bike rack, so to maximize carrying capacity for bikes you'll want to use a rack that's as light as possible, like the Kuat Beta, part # B202-2 that weighs only about 12-1/2 lbs.
