The best way to secure your women's-style bike, or an alternative frame bike, to a bike rack is to use an adapter bar. It may be possible for the bike to mount without a bar, but the bike will not be carried level and can be difficult to put on and take off the bike rack due to limited space between the frame bars.

Using an adapter bar, like the Swagman Easy-Out Women's and Alternative Frame Bike Adapater # 64005, can help the bike be carried level and ease the installation.

For women's bikes that have the deep dip in the frame bar, like cruiser bikes, an adapter bar is essential in being able to carry the bike on a bike rack.
