How Will 16 Inch Spare Tire Need to Be Adjusted to Install Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch

Question:

"It will not be necessary to relocate the factory spare tire underneath the box. If a larger-than-standard tire is used as a spare, it may have to be relocated. On some models equipped with a 16” spare tire, it will be necessary to adjust spare tire cradle to retain under vehicle tire stowage after hitch is installed." What is meant above by adjust spare tire cradle for 16 inch spare tire. My truck has the factory 16inch 325x85 spare The truck now has a reese multifit hitch that dosent allow the spare tire cradle to lift the spare up enough to rest evenly against the gas tank. The end of the cradle hits the hitch cross piece. Thats why Im thinking about replacing this hitch with a 41904

In order to raise the 16 inch spare tire on your 1995 Ford F-250, the spare tire will need to be adjusted as it is raised back into place after the # 41904 hitch is installed. This means that once the tire gets close to the hitch, you will want a partner to push the tire out of the way of the crossbar and help guide the hitch securely back into place.

This may also be the solution to the issue you are having with your Reese multi-fit hitch.
