What us the measurement on the piece that is attached to the trailer ?

The mounting bracket portion of the Pull Out Steps part # SMFP-1100 that you referenced is 6 inches long with a distance of 4-1/2 inches between mounting holes.
From outside to outside of each bracket it measures 25 inches. From bolt hole center to bolt hole center it measures 23-1/4 inches.
