Recommended Roadmaster Base Plates And Adapter To Use Blue Ox Aventa Tow Bar On 2014 Ford Explorer
Question:
I think i am very close to making my decision between the blue ox or the roadmaster base plate for my 2014 Explorer. The roadmaster base plate is looking like my choice, with one question: I have the blue ox tow bar and will want to adapt to the roadmaster base plate. What adapters are required? thank you.

In order to use a Blue Ox tow bar with a Roadmaster base plate on your 2014 Explorer, you will first need the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, part # 4427-1A. The # 4427-3A will not work with the Aventa tow bar.
The tow bar adapter you will then need is part # RM-033. This adapter mounts to the plates on the 4427-1A base plate kit and your Aventa,, part # BX7450 or part # BX7445.
For a cost savings, you may want to consider the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, part # BX2632. This would require no additional adapters and would work well with your Aventa tow bar as well.
