Can the Pro Series RB3 Weight Distribution System Be Upgraded from 750 Pound TW to 1000 Pound TW

Question:

I have a 49582 from another trailer and want to know if I can still use it. I now own a 34ft Cherokee travel trailer that has a tongue weight of 985lbs and a total loaded weight of just over 7500lbs. What WD hitch and sway control would you recommend. Assuming that I cannot reuse the PS49582. Thanks

For the Pro Series RB3 Weight Distribution System # PS49582 to be an effective weight distribution system for your Cherokee travel trailer, you will want to upgrade the spring bars to the # PS58441 round bars. These bars are rated for use with a trailer tongue weight up to 1,000 pounds. The 750 pound tongue weight spring bars that come with the # PS49582, will not work to effectively distribute the tongue weight of the Cherokee trailer.

As long as your trailer's loaded and ready to tow tongue weight is the 985 pounds you referenced, the # PS58441 will allow your weight distribution system work great for you. The Replacement Round Bars # PS58441 will install in the place of your existing spring bars.

If you need to replace the chains on the spring bar, you can use the Reese Replacement Chain Kit # 55630. This will replace the lift chain on one spring bar.
